How to Add Domains to Spam Experts

Posted by on December 05 2013 04:06 PM

Spam Experts can be configured to filter email for multiple domains at a time, even if they are not pointing to the same mail server. This article walks through the steps to add domains to your Spam Experts installation.

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

  • On the control panel Home tab, click "Create" under the Spam Experts section.

  • Select the check box next to the domain or domains which should be added to Spam Experts, then click Next. (If you do not see the domain you want to add, see the Note at the bottom of the article.)

  • Click the Finish button to confirm provisioning for the domain on Spam Experts.

Note: If no domains appear in the list of options, it means that the system does not see any available domains to provision. This indicates that the domain is either missing from your hosted domains list, or is missing an MX record in our control panel. If either of these options is not present, Spam Experts will not be able to add the new domain name.

The first thing to check is if the domain is listed under Hosted Domains & DNS Management. This article will walk you through adding a domain to this list: Adding a Domain to DNS

The second thing to check is whether the domain has an existing MX record in the control panel. Spam Experts relies on an internal MX record in order to "see" a domain for proper provisioning. If Spam Experts does not find an MX record in the control panel, that domain will not be displayed in the list to add to Spam Experts. This article will walk you through adding an MX record: Adding DNS Records
