How to Change an Exchange Mailbox Type

HostMySite's Hosted Exchange plan offers several different mailbox types. Each mailbox type includes different levels of included storage as a well as features and functionality. To see a full comparison of features included in each mailbox type, please check out our website.

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

• Before you can change your mailbox to a new type, you must first purchase the new mailbox resource. Instructions on doing this can be found here: How to Buy Additional Exchange Mailboxes
• On the control panel Home tab, click "Mailboxes" under the Exchange section.

• Click on the display name of the user you wish to edit.
  

• Click the Edit button.

• Select the new mailbox type from the drop down menu. Note: If you are downgrading to a mailbox type with a lower size limit, and the existing mailbox is above that lower limit, the mailbox will be decreased down to the new mailbox plan's maximum size allowed. This means mail will be deleted until the mailbox fits the new limit. Click the Submit button once updated.
