You will upload your website's files to your home directory on the webserver. The home directory of a website is the directory where the files for your website are stored, and where the server will look when someone goes to your site in a web browser. The name of the home directory on Linux and Windows subscriptions is different. This means the directory to which you upload files might not be the same if you have more than one type of subscription. The default root directories are included below for both Linux and Windows subscriptions. If you think your root folder may have been changed at any time, you can either check or modify the site's root via the control panel, by using the steps in this article: How to Change Your Website Root Directory This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first. For Linux Subscriptions: Your default home directory is your domain name (ex: hostmysite.com). Once connected to your site via FTP, this will be under /webspace/httpdocs/yourdomainname.com. The full server path will be /var/www/vhosts/##/#####/webspace/httpdocs/yourdomainname.com/ where # will be determined by your specific web server and webspace number. For Windows Subscriptions: Your default home directory is wwwroot. The full server path will be C:/CustomerData/webspaces/webspace_00#####/wwwroot/ where # will be your webspace ID number.
