How to Zip or Unzip Files in the Control Panel File Manager

You can utilize the File Manager, via your Control Panel. You can create archives of your files by compressing the files into a ZIP format. You can also upload a ZIP file and extract the content into your site file location. 

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

• From the control panel home tab, select "File Manager" from the Websites section. If you don't see it, you may need to click the "More" link and open the file manager from the subsequent page.
  

• To zip files, highlight the folders or files you wish to zip and right click. Select "Create Archive" and then click "Zip Archive".

• A zip file should show up within a few minutes, depending on the size of the files and folders involved.

• To unzip an archive, highlight the .zip file and right click. Select "Extract files from archive" and a new folder or file will be created within the current directory. Again, this may take a few minutes, depending on the size or number of files involved.
