How to Enable Website Monitoring

Posted by on October 07 2015 12:48 PM

SiteBackup allows you to monitor your website for performance issues or outages. The SiteBackup website monitoring service will ensure that you are notified as soon as any outages or issues occur on your website.

  • From the SiteBackup dashboard, click the Add Monitor

  • Enter the URL which you wish to monitor, select an http method for testing this URL, then select the user agent (you can specify that the tests be done to simulate certain web browsers or operating systems, if desired). If the page needs authentication, select the Basic HTTP Authentication check box and enter the credentials. Click Next.

  • Select a timeout period (the length of time the monitor will attempt to check your site before reporting a failure), a frequency for the monitor check, an alert threshold (when the system should send you an email to alert you of an outage), your time zone, and enter the email address(es) to send the failure notices to. Click Next.

  • Enter a profile name for the website monitor, then review your settings. Click Save.

  • You will be taken back to the dashboard, and the new website monitor will be listed under the Monitors section.
