How to Connect to an Open-Xchange Mailbox Using ActiveSync

This article describes how to connect to your Open-Xchange mailbox using ActiveSync. Please note, only Premium or Business accounts have ActiveSync available. Basic mailboxes cannot connect using ActiveSync. If you want to upgrade your mailbox, you can follow the steps listed here.

To connect using ActiveSync:

  • In your email client or app, add a new Exchange mail account.
  • Since there is no autodiscover record, you must manually enter the settings. Select the option to manually enter the server settings and enter the following: The connection should automatically be tested and verified by your email client/app.
    • Server: activesync.hostmanagement.net
    • If available, select the option to use Cached Exchange Mode
    • Username: enter the login name of your Service User (this should be your email address)
