How to Configure an Email Client for an Open-Xchange Mailbox

This article describes the general settings needed to configure your email program (such as Outlook or Thunderbird) or app (such as iOS Mail) to connect to your Open-Xchange mailbox.

Incoming Email Settings

You can choose either POP3 or IMAP depending on your preference.

POP3

  • Incoming Mail Server: pop.hostmanagement.net
  • Port: 110
  • Username: <your full email address> (for example, user@domain.com)
  • Password: <your email password>
  • Ensure any options for SSL or Encrypted Connection are unchecked or disabled.

IMAP

  • Incoming Mail Server: imap.hostmanagement.net
  • Port: 143
  • Username: <your full email address> (for example, user@domain.com)
  • Password: <your email password>
  • Ensure any options for SSL or Encrypted Connection are unchecked or disabled.

 

Outgoing Email Settings

SMTP

  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.hostmanagement.net
  • Port: 25
  • Check the option for SMTP Authentication.
  • Username: <your full email address> (for example, user@domain.com)
  • Password: <your email password>
  • Ensure any options for SSL or Encrypted Connection are unchecked or disabled.
