Posted by on July 29 2014 12:08 PM

Secure Shell, or SSH, is an encrypted way to connect to your Linux subscription. SSH access will allow you to connect to your site to manage files, permissions, or to complete other tasks such as configuring scheduled tasks (cron jobs) for your website.

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

  • On the control panel Home tab, click "Manage Website" under the Websites section.

  • Click on "Web Hosting Settings".

  • From the General tab, click the Edit button.

  • Check the box next to "Enable SSH-connections to this webspace". You will now be able to enter an SSH user name and password. Once this information is entered, click Submit. You can now utilize these credentials to connect to your site via SSH.
