How to Configure Email Clients for Exchange

The Hosted Exchange control panel provides detailed and customized instructions for configuring supported e-mail clients for Exchange. The settings required to configure other mail clients can be derived from the information found in these guides, however we cannot provided step by step instructions.

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

Supported Exchange mail clients include:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010/2013
  • Microsoft Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition (version 13.x)
  • Microsoft Outlook 2011

The following mail clients are also supported for POP3/ IMAP4 configuration:

  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • Microsoft Outlook Express
  • Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010
  • Entourage 2004/2008
  • Outlook 2011 for Mac
  • Apple Mail

 

Where do I find my configuration instructions?

Account Administrator

Exchange User

Note: Both the Exchange administrator and Exchange users will need to log in to the HostMySite control panel to complete the below steps.


 

I'm an Account/Organization Administrator

  • On the control panel Home tab, click "Mailboxes" under the Exchange section.

  • Click on the display name of the user you wish to edit.

  • The general screen displays links for various email configuration needs:
    • Outlook access: Configuration instructions for full Exchange support. This is the most common configuration option.
    • ActiveSync: Configuration instructions for mobile devices.
    • IMAP4: Configuration instructions for basic IMAP4 support.
    • POP3: Configuration instructions for basic POP3 support.

 

 

I'm an Exchange user

  • From the Exchange Mailbox tab in the control panel, click "General".

 

  • The General screen displays links for various configuration needs:
    • Outlook access: Configuration instructions for full Exchange support. This is the most common configuration option.
    • ActiveSync: Configuration instructions for mobile devices.
    • IMAP4: Configuration instructions for basic IMAP4 support.
    • POP3: Configuration instructions for basic POP3 support.
