Posted by on October 03 2012 10:30 AM

A default FTP user is created when your Windows hosting subscription is initially provisioned. In order to connect with this user, you will need to log in to the control panel to update the user's password.

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

  • On the control panel Home tab, click "Manage Website" under the Websites section.

  • Click "Web Hosting Settings".

  • Click the Edit button on the bottom of the page.

  • Enter or generate a new password, then click Submit. This completes the password change. You can now connect to your site via FTP with the new credentials you have created. The user name will be listed on this page, along with your FTP URL and IP address.
