How to Add a New Website

HostMySite's Windows Pro, Linux Pro, and ProCommerce shared hosting plans allow you to host multiple websites within the same subscription. This prevents the need to log into several different accounts to make changes to your websites. Adding a new website can be done in a few simple steps. You can host a separate website on an entirely separate domain name or on a subdomain of an existing domain on your account. Note: The domain you want to use must already exist in the Hosted Domains and DNS Management section.  If not, use this support article to add the domain their first before proceeding: Adding a Domain to DNS 

This article assumes that you are already familiar with how to log in to the customer control panel. If you do not know how to log in or have forgotten your password, please refer to this article first.

• On the control panel Home tab, click "Hosted Domains & DNS Management" under the Domains & DNS section.

• Click on the name of the domain to which you wish to add web hosting.

• Under the Hosting Services section toward the bottom of the page, click "Add Hosting" on the right of the Web Hosting line.

• Select the type of hosting - Website (Apache) for Linux or Website (Microsoft IIS) for Windows. Click Next

• Enter the folder name you wish to use as the site's root directory. This can be changed later, if desired. It is recommended that you leave the default location that appears on this screen. Click Next.

• Click the Finish button to complete the addition of web hosting to this domain name.

Adding a Website for a Subdomain 

• From the control panel's Websites tab, click "Add New Website".

• Enter a subdomain name and select your domain name from the drop down menu. Select a web hosting type - Website (Apache) for Linux or Website (Microsoft IIS) for Windows. Click Next.

• Click the Finish button to complete the addition of web hosting to this subdomain.
